Mei Yen is a dual-qualified, multilingual dispute resolution lawyer.
As a member of Rahman Ravelli’s commercial litigation and international arbitration team, she works on complex, high-stakes litigation which often crosses borders and involves parallel proceedings in various jurisdictions. Her caseload also has a focus on notable multinational investigations brought by government agencies.
She has experience with international arbitration under various institutional rules, including the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).
Mei Yen has been heavily involved in high-value cases brought against governments and national and multinational corporates from a wide range of business sectors; including mining, hospitality, telecommunications, shipping and international trade, and oil and gas.
Prior to joining Rahman Ravelli, Mei Yen has worked as an international arbitration lawyer in Singapore on major international disputes and arbitration cases. She has also litigated for high net worth clients in Malaysia, including cases that have gone on appeal to the Federal Court; Malaysia’s highest court. She was also part of a civil rights project where she engaged in multi-year discussions with the Malaysian government and drafted provisions for a proposed Bill that formed a major part of an Act that was passed in Malaysia.
Qualified to practise in England and Wales and Malaysia, Mei Yen is fluent in English, Mandarin and Malay and conversant in Cantonese and Hakka.
