REGISTRATION CLOSED Syed Rahman was a guest speaker at FIRE’s Channel Islands and Isle of Man asset recovery conference. The event, which was held at Guernsey’s Duke of Richmond Hotel on June 17 and 18, saw Syed on the panel entitled “Managing The Costs and Timelines of Asset Recovery Efforts’’. The panel examined the value of careful planning, strategies for budgeting recovery efforts and how to avoid procedural delays. Syed’s fellow panellists were Polly Sprenger, partner at Addleshaw Goddard; and Rebecca Newell, counsel at Hogan Lovells. Other subjects that were discussed and analysed at the conference included mastering freezing injunctions, international enforcement and non-performing loans, directors’ liabilities, insolvency tools in various jurisdictions, successful enforcement and trust structures.
