REGISTRATION CLOSED Nicola Sharp and Gary Orritt were speakers at a conference examining factors affecting the use of freezing orders. The event, “Freezing order developments in cross-border matters and the criminal comparison’’, was held from 2pm-3.30pm on June 3, 2026. It was part of London International Disputes Week. Nicola, Gary and fellow speaker, barrister Paul Lowenstein KC of Twenty Essex chambers, assessed matters that affect cross-border freezing orders and asset recovery strategy and the practical implications of recent English court case law. The event focused on jurisdictional gateways, Chabra relief and other developments. There was also consideration of the continuing importance of full and frank disclosure and exploration of the interplay between civil and criminal tools in international asset recovery The event offered practical insights into how to respond to increasingly complex cross-border disputes.
