Aziz Rahman was an expert speaker at the Ministry of Justice and London Chamber of Arbitration & Mediation’s round table meeting in Mexico.

The event, entitled “Current Trends in Global Disputes, Financial Disputes and Fintech in Latin America’’, was held at the British Embassy in Mexico City on September 17. It coincided with the International Bar Association (IBA) Annual Conference.

Aziz was one of a select group of experienced legal professionals brought together for a discussion about financial disputes and the impact of technology on the legal sector, with a special focus on Latin America.

The round table, chaired by Akima Paul Lambert, a partner at Hogan Lovells, highlighted Latin America’s growing significance as a market for international arbitration and the role arbitration plays in resolving commercial conflicts worldwide.

Emerging challenges in cross-border financial transactions, the impact of regulatory changes, current developments and issues leading to disputes in the fintech and banking sectors, and disputes arising in the insurance sector were among some of the matters considered at the event.
