Syed Rahman was a speaker at international DeFi webinar

Syed Rahman was invited to be one of the keynote speakers at the FIRE webinar “Crypto: The Complexities of an Ever-Expanding Decentralised World’’.

The online event, which was held at 10am on Monday March 6, examined a number of key issues regarding the complexities of the expanding world of decentralised finance (DeFi).

Syed and his fellow speakers addressed matters relating to asset recovery and the stealing of funds through DeFi and from decentralised organisations.

These included:

• The differences between tracing and recovery involving DeFi and traditional crypto tokens such as Bitcoin.
• Receiving instructions from a decentralised organisation in crisis.
• The important distinction between trading strategies and theft when a code that is publicly-available information is used.

Syed’s fellow speakers were Danielle Heston, Head of Global Asset at blockchain analysts Chainalysis; Stella Ko, a trainer at Chainalysis; and Rose Kehoe, -Managing Director at risk and financial advisory specialists, Kroll.
