The School of International Financial Services’ Financial Crime Prevention and Compliance Bi-Annual Forum

Angelika Hellweger spoke about greenwashing at an international financial crime and compliance conference.

She gave a speech, entitled “Where there is good, there is bad: Greenwashing as an economic crime typology’’, at the School of International Financial Services’ (SIFS) virtual 2023 Financial Crime Prevention and Compliance Bi-Annual Forum, in Guernsey, on 28 November.

The event was attended by professionals from the finance, regulatory, law enforcement and government sectors to assess trends, challenges and best practices in regulation, compliance and financial crime prevention.

There were presentations from highly-respected industry experts and question and answer sessions. As well as Angelika’s speech, there were also sessions considering:

• The UK government's 2021-23 financial crime strategy.
• Likely developments in regulation in 2023-24.
• Sanctions (including an address from Rahman Ravelli’s Aziz Rahman).
• Recent regulatory fines and ensuring effective compliance.

Jersey-based SIFS is a provider of training and education for international finance centres. It hosts a range of events involving speakers who are industry experts, regulators or senior government or international law enforcement figures.
