/ News / An appeals court denied a request by Tom Hayes, a former trader at Citigroup and UBS, to have his conviction for Libor manipulation reviewed by the Supreme Court

Mr. Hayes, who is serving an 11-year sentence, was the first person to go to trial in Britain and be convicted of criminal charges related to the manipulation of the London interbank offered rate.
Last December, the Court of Appeal declined to overturn Mr. Hayes’s conviction but cut his sentence from its original 14 years.
