The extent of the protection that is available to whistleblowers in the UK was detailed by Angelika Hellweger.
In an article that was published by LexisNexis, she explains the measures in place that relate to whistleblowing in the UK and compare them to what is available to whistleblowers in the United States.
Her piece also summarises the scheme for rewarding whistleblowers that HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) announced late last year. She concludes by emphasising that further reforms are needed if the UK is to develop a strong whistleblowing culture and fully realise the benefits that this can bring.
