Aziz Rahman and Angelika Hellweger have written a chapter for the International Comparative Legal Guide - Sanctions 2024.
Their expert analysis chapter for the just-published guide is entitled “Investigations and enforcement across the main sanctions jurisdictions – and the right response to them’’.
In their chapter, the three Rahman Ravelli lawyers examine the sanctions legal framework in the UK and detail how sanctions are enforced. They also detail the approach taken to sanctions in the European Union and the United States.
Aziz and Angelika also explain the importance of responding appropriately to a sanctions investigation, as there is no “one size fits all’’ approach that can be taken.
They outline how to cooperate with sanctions investigators and offer advice on self-reporting any problems. Their chapter also goes into detail about the best practice measures that can be adopted in order to reduce the likelihood of any sanctions-related problems arising.
