An article by Aziz Rahman about Letters of Request features in TL4 FIRE Magazine.
The magazine’s FIRE International 2025 Vilamoura Edition includes Aziz’s piece as its opening article.
In it, Aziz explains what Letters of Request are, the UK legislation relating to them and the process of drafting them. He also outlines the courts’ response to them, cites relevant case law and emphasises the importance of not using them as a “fishing exercise’’.
Aziz chaired a panel entitled “Obtaining Evidence from Abroad in Heavyweight Commercial Disputes’’ at last week’s FIRE International: Vilamoura asset recovery conference.
