With a series of Cum-Ex developments happening in quick succession, This is Money sought Aziz’s Rahman’s thoughts.
Aziz stated that more is coming to light regarding Cum-Ex as the agencies make progress in their investigations. He told the financial website:
“We are now at the stage where we are starting to see the tip of the iceberg – and more of that tip is becoming visible.’’
He made his comments in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling that Denmark can seek to recover £1.44 billion proceeds of Cum-Ex in the UK. This ruling came as Denmark’s first criminal trial for Cum-Ex began and as Munich prosecutors charged two individuals with tax evasion over their role in alleged Cum-Ex trading.
