/ News / Aziz Rahman tells The Times about the importance of firms operating in Russia being aware of all sanctions
Author: Azizur Rahman 3 March 2022
With sanctions against Russia being imposed at a rapid rate, The Times asked Aziz Rahman about the situation facing UK professionals with links to the country.
Aziz explained that every firm that provides professional services and operates in Russia has to exercise caution regarding the large and ever-growing list of international sanctions that are being imposed as a result of the invasion of Ukraine. He warned about the extreme difficulties of continuing to do business in Russia.
He added: “The daily expanded lists mean that it won’t be hard to get caught up in a sanctions breach by directly or indirectly dealing with an individual on the list or as a result of dealing with the many banks and entities that are now persona non grata.
“This makes doing business for professional services firms an uphill struggle, if not impossible.”
