Rahman Ravelli has appointed Dr. Angelika Hellweger as a legal director.
Angelika, a dual-qualified Austrian counsel and English solicitor, is a specialist in international, high-level economic crime investigations and large-scale commercial disputes.
She has widely-acknowledged expertise in representing corporates and conglomerates across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the United States. She also has in-depth experience of advising corporates on regulatory and compliance matters and of managing offensive asset tracing and recovery litigation.
Her work on cases involving environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues has seen her become one of the lawyers at the forefront of this developing area; having advised high-profile, multi-national companies on compliance and secured the termination of regulatory and criminal investigations.
She is part of Rahman Ravelli’s international sanctions team and will also work in the firm’s highly-respected cryptocurrency team.
Aziz Rahman, Rahman Ravelli’s founder and senior partner, said the calibre of Angelika’s international work made her a welcome appointment at a time when global demand for the firm’s services is on the rise.
He added: “Even a quick glance at Angelika’s CV shows that she has represented many of the biggest corporate clients in a wide range of legal matters around the world.
“It is fantastic to be able to secure Angelika’s services at a time when Rahman Ravelli’s own services are being sought by increasing numbers of clients in various nations.
“We believe that Angelika, like our other new appointments, will help us stay on our upward trajectory and meet the needs of our expanding client base.’’
Rahman Ravelli has appointed former SFO prosecutor Zulfi Meerza as senior associate solicitor to work on multi-jurisdictional, high-profile criminal investigations, serious regulatory matters and complex commercial litigation relating to corporate misconduct.
