Rahman Ravelli detailed many aspects of the Serious Fraud Office’s working methods for a Security Matters Podcast.
It outlined the role of the SFO, the powers it has and explained how legal challenges can be made to the way the agency functions in a case. It emphasised the importance of negotiation with the SFO in certain circumstances and outlined the factors that the agency will consider when deciding whether to bring a prosecution.
Rahman Ravelli went on to tell listeners about deferred prosecution agreements and how a company could and should go about self-reporting wrongdoing to the SFO. It also talked about how the current pandemic has had an effect on the way the SFO functions.
