With the government having made it clear that the Covid-19 pandemic is producing opportunities for cybercrime, Rahman Ravelli’s Syed Rahman analysed the challenge facing the authorities.
Syed wrote an article in which he considered the government warnings and detailed the stance that has been taken in response to the risk of an increase in cybercrime. But he also highlighted the current low conviction rate for such offending. While acknowledging the difficulties that the authorities encounter when trying to bring such prosecutions, he stressed the need to improve on the current success rate.
