The latest Financial Conduct Authority annual report was analysed by Rahman Ravelli.
In an article for IFA Magazine, Rahman Ravelli highlights the FCA’s record-breaking number of criminal charges and regulatory actions, the tough approach it has taken regarding cryptocurrency, the fall in fines collected and the drop in the number of fraud cases opened.
They point to the extra investment that has been put into the FCA and argues that it has not led to “such a spectacular return’’ in certain areas.
Rahman Ravelli explains that the FCA now has to be the financial sector’s police officer and its cheerleader. They argue that only time will tell whether it can carry out both roles effectively.
