The reasons why more people are bringing private prosecutions were outlined by Rahman Ravelli in an article.
Rahman Ravelli's piece, which was published by New Law Journal, also explain how to approach taking this course of action.
They refer to problems associated with private prosecutions that became headline news with the Post Office scandal and the approach taken by the government in the wake of this. They also stress that while private prosecutions are “not the cure-all that will resolve every situation’’ they can be “the most efficient way to obtain justice’’.
