The long-term impact of the controversial share-selling practice Cum-Ex was outlined in an article by Rahman Ravelli.
In this piece, which was published by Solicitors Journal, Rahman Ravelli explain how Cum-Ex worked and the effect it had on state treasuries, who paid out billions in tax rebates as a result of it.
Rahman Ravelli also detail some of the efforts that those authorities are still making to recoup their money years later.
Cum-Ex, Rahman Ravelli concludes, was a short-lived practice that “had a seismic effect on the finances of various states – and the aftershocks will be felt for a long time yet.’’
