Rahman Ravelli appoints SFO prosecutor Zulfi Meerza as senior associate solicitor

Rahman Ravelli has hired the SFO prosecutor Zulfi Meerza as senior associate solicitor as part of the firm’s expansion plans.

Zulfi, who has also previously worked in private practice, will represent corporates, board members, senior business figures and high net worth individuals. At the SFO, he worked on some of the most notable and highly-publicised investigations; ranging from banks seeking international financing and alleged multinational corruption by companies through to fraud and money laundering on a global scale and the collapse of financial investment funds.

He will be a part of Rahman Ravelli’s corporate crime practice group and will work on multi-jurisdictional, high-profile criminal investigations, serious regulatory matters and complex commercial litigation relating to corporate misconduct. He also has a growing sanctions caseload.

Zulfi’s management of civil and regulatory proceedings that can run alongside a criminal investigation has shown that he can create and carry out the most appropriate strategy for any situation that a client may encounter. He is also known for his strategic leadership in commercial litigation cases.

Zulfi also has many years of experience dealing with all the agencies that could be involved in an investigation, such as HM Revenue and Customs, the National Crime Agency, the Financial Conduct Authority, police and international organisations.

Rahman Ravelli has also appointed Dr. Angelika Hellweger as legal director. She is a specialist in international, high-level economic crime investigations and large-scale commercial litigation.
