Rahman Ravelli’s worldwide expertise highlighted as The Legal 500 gives the firm top ranking again

Rahman Ravelli’s international reach and global achievements have been praised in the latest edition of The Legal 500.

The international legal guide’s just-published 2023 edition highlights Rahman Ravelli’s skills in managing major financial crime cases around the world. It emphasises the firm’s “on-the-ground’’ expertise in Europe, the US, Africa and Asia and adds that the firm “is home to extensive experience in fraud, white-collar and corporate crime, money laundering and tax evasion’’

Naming Rahman Ravelli as an elite firm, The Legal 500 adds that it has “a great level of skill and knowledge’’ and that all the firm’s lawyers are “hard working, client focused and provide an outstanding service’’.

The guide focuses on the firm’s prowess in multijurisdictional financial crime, bribery and serious fraud cases, as well as its successes representing defendants in notable Serious Fraud Office, Financial Conduct Authority and HM Revenue and Customs prosecutions in the UK.

It names five Rahman Ravelli solicitors as being among the very best in their fields; including senior partner Aziz Rahman, who is classed as an elite individual, and partners Nicola Sharp and Syedur Rahman, who are awarded the title of next generation partners.

The Legal 500 says that Aziz Rahman is one of the most well-respected names in the legal world and praises his “fantastic ability’’. It adds: “Aziz Rahman is simply top drawer.  He runs an impressive practice whilst retaining the human touch.’’

Syedur Rahman is commended by the guide for his ability to master volumes of detailed information. It adds: “Syed Rahman is a standout and has developed prominent expertise in a number of emerging areas, including SPAC-related matters and cryptocurrency fraud.’’

The Legal 500 says Nicola Sharp is “a great litigator’’, “tenacious’’ and “an acclaimed name for financial investigations, money laundering and cross-border investment fraud’’.

It calls Niall Hearty, a partner at Rahman Ravelli, outstanding and a “rock solid performer’’. It adds: “Niall Hearty is an excellent lawyer with real skill both inter-personally in client facing and also in his careful and considered preparation of cases. He works for clients rather than the firm!’’

The guide also praises the head of Rahman Ravelli’s EU Business Crime and Regulatory Practice Group, Salomé Lemasson, for her cross-border expertise.
