Salomé Lemasson is one of the authors of the International Comparative Legal Guide – Sanctions 2022.
The head of Rahman Ravelli’s European Union business crime and regulatory practice group contributed one of the Guide’s four expert chapters. Her chapter, entitled “The New EU Global Human Rights Sanctions Regime’’, assesses the new sanctions regime that was adopted by the EU in December 2020.
Salomé outlines the legal framework that is in place for the EU to impose sanctions and details the procedures and legal tools used. She also assesses the new EU regime alongside previous EU sanctions systems and those that are in place in other parts of the world.
The Guide contains a total of 20 chapters that examine sanctions regimes and the global development and enforcement of sanctions laws around the world.
