Rahman Ravelli’s Syed Rahman is the author of a chapter on cryptocurrency in this year’s “CDR Essential Intelligence – Fraud, Asset Tracing & Recovery’’ guide.
The Rahman Ravelli partner was asked to contribute to the guide, which examines all aspects of identifying and recovering assets lost to fraud.
Syed’s chapter outlines both the rising popularity of crypto and the risks associated with it and details how to go about planning an attempt to recover assets lost to cryptocurrency fraud. He also explains how to track cryptocurrency and the range of legal applications available to those looking to regain what has been taken from them.
The freezing of assets and how those responsible can be held to account are covered in the chapter. Syed also explains the issues that defence teams need to consider and focuses on recent cases of significance in this area.
